Dyskairos
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
FPS with roguelike and metroidvania inspirations (but doesn't really fit cleanly into either of those genres). Ascend a mysterious tower and fight its current and former inhabitants as well as the tower itself along the way. Discover how the tower and the world around it works. Determine an optimal route to your current goal with what you have available to you before the tower's cleansing cycle finishes.
Important Notes
- Still absolutely a work in progress
- No saving atm (will add in update in coming weeks, wanted to get this out with OASIS 1.4)
- Demo length likely at most an hour, likely much faster (I can complete it in about 10 minutes at fastest), dependent on RNG and how quickly you understand the game and its mechanics
- Would highly recommend talking to the shopkeeper (current name "Placeholder Guy"). The questions you can ask will explain the most important mechanics and give you an idea on where to start.
Current build is a demo containing the first 2 floors of the tower, full game will have 7+ (exact amount not final) floors each with their own enemies and challenges, as well as more weapons, upgrades, and more. Release will likely be in late 2025, steam page coming in a few months.
Feedback + reporting any bugs you may find would be appreciated! A comment is fine, but you can also post it in dys-feedback in my Discord!
Known Issues
- The basic robot enemies while chasing will sometimes 180 and run while facing backwards. (everything with it works fine while its doing this though)
- Ragdolls of the basic robot will occasionally just kinda go crazy and go everywhere. (no idea why it's doing this, possibly a jolt or godot issue).
- planning to remake this enemy at some point which may or may not end up fixing both of these issues
- Some map transitions aren't exactly as "smooth" as I'd like them to be (there's a particular secret one that's very bad).
- The weapon crosshair is currently inaccurate when in aspect ratios other than 16:9, turn on Force Center Crosshair in the pause menu if this is the case for you. (this is a godot issue related to unproject_position)
- There is no quit option anywhere. Just alt+f4 for now. (will add one when adding saves)
